Can anybody advise me of a couple things,my two campbells have just started to lay eggs,or at least one of them has.Are the eggs fit for eating right away or should I wait awhile.
The eggs are a bit messy, what is the best and safest way of cleaning them as I have read different views.
I give my chickens and ducks tap water to drink, the ducks also have paddling pool with water butt water which is changed every 2-3 days.Of couse they drink loads of this whilst splashing about, will this have any effect on their eggs?would I be better putting tap water in their pool?
Any helpful tips ?

Hi,
The eggs should be fine to eat. I just wipe the muck off with a damp cloth,as the shells are porous dont soak in water as it may absorb some along with the bacteria on the outside. My ducks splash around in and drink water from a water butt too, with no ill effects.
