Fireworks

So bonfire night is finally upon us for another year!

I've been reading up online about how to keep ducks happy and comfortable with all the fireworks that people are setting off in their gardens. They seem to be quite good, they are both silently sat in the water inside their run. Is this behaviour good in that it implies it isn't phasing them, or should I do something else to protect them from the loud bangs?

Ahh what a lovely thoughtful post. I think you have done the right thing. Do they have a night time house you lock them up in or is your run fox proof?

Good evening

Thanks for the reply. The run is all fenced in sides and top and buried. Inside the run we have a little house for them (it’s actually a dog kennel with straw on the bottom that we converted by adding a drawbridge style access ramp). Of course being ducks they usually refuse to sleep in it!

They do occasionally go in there, like when I walk into their run to change food / water & they haven’t had a chance to escape through the door before I get into there.
