My glass fusing class were having teabreak out in the garden just after noon when we were treated to a flypast by a Spitfire plus something else that we heard but didn't see. Naturally I thought of BYM, as you do... Where might they have come from & be going to, passing over Canterbury?

Probably Aerolegends, they operate out of North Weald Essex, and Headcorn, Kent. You can fly in a Spitfire and also fly alongside in a Harvard an American training plane from that era and take pics. They do flights to various places, and I know they go over Canterbury. £2975 if you fancy a spin in a Spitfire, the Harvard is around £300.
They have been around us twice this week, plus we had the Strikemaster jets and Vampire based at North Weald for Eastbourne air show last week, and the Lancaster based locally. So it's been quite nice. Although the Strikemasters do spook the hens somewhat

Would the Strikemasters be the jets that fly low over our village & put the hens off lay? The girls aren't keen on red kites, but the jets terrify them ?

My friend assures me he hasn't flown his Strikemasters anywhere near Canterbury, his planes, he has two are mainly kept at Hawarden aka Chester Airfield. His journeys when based at N Weald don't take him that way, and he would be high up over towns and villages. We get them low because he has literally just taken off.
Someone got something noisy at Lydd maybe ?
