Pekin Ducks- drake's eye's

I have 2 Pekin Ducks. The duck is very healthy and the drake seems to be but around his eyes he has lost feathers and don't look particularly nice. I thought it was just because of malting but am begging to doubt myself. Is it just malting or could the loos of the feathers around his eyes have an underlying case?
Any answers to my questions would be very helpful and I would be so very grateful!!
